StyleMe is designed with your privacy in mind. The app operates primarily on your device and stores your wardrobe data locally using your device's storage.

We collect the following types of information:

• Wardrobe photos and clothing item data you add to the app (stored locally on your device)
• Outfit combinations and calendar plans you create (stored locally)
• App preferences such as dark mode, temperature unit, and notification settings (stored locally)
• Location data (only when you grant permission) solely to fetch local weather conditions — this data is sent directly to the Open-Meteo weather API and is never stored by StyleMe

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly create an account.

2. How We Use Your Information

All data you enter into StyleMe — including clothing photos, outfit plans, and calendar entries — is stored exclusively on your device. We use this data solely to provide the app's core features:

• Displaying your wardrobe and outfit suggestions
• Planning your outfits on the calendar
• Showing weather-appropriate outfit recommendations
• Generating outfit collages for sharing

When you use the AI background removal feature, your clothing photo is temporarily uploaded to our secure server for processing and then immediately deleted. The processed result is returned to your device and the original is not retained.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

StyleMe does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We use the following third-party services:

• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — a free, open-source weather API. Your approximate location coordinates are sent to retrieve weather data. Open-Meteo does not store personal data. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com/privacy.
• Expo and React Native — the technology frameworks powering this app. Standard crash and performance data may be collected by Expo's services. See expo.dev/privacy for details.

No advertising networks or analytics trackers are embedded in StyleMe.

4. Permissions

StyleMe requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — to photograph your clothing items directly within the app. Photos are stored on your device only.
• Photo Library — to select existing photos from your gallery and to save outfit collages. We only access photos you explicitly select.
• Location — to determine your approximate location for weather data. This is optional; you can decline and the weather feature will be unavailable.
• Notifications — to send you optional outfit reminders. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings app.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your wardrobe data, outfit plans, and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage, a secure local storage mechanism provided by React Native. This data does not leave your device except as described in this policy.

When the AI background removal feature is used, photos are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server, processed, and the result is returned. Original photos are deleted from our servers immediately after processing.

We implement industry-standard security practices to protect any data that passes through our servers.

6. Age Requirement & Children's Privacy

StyleMe is intended for users aged 16 and older. By using this app, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16, you may not use StyleMe.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a person under 16 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@styleme.app and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights

You have full control over your data in StyleMe:

• Access — all your data is stored on your device and is accessible through the app at any time.
• Deletion — you can delete individual clothing items, outfits, or calendar entries within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
• Portability — your data is stored in standard formats on your device.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and notify you through an in-app notice.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of StyleMe after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
